Fruit nutrition and botanical taxonomy as an API, built on the open Fruityvice dataset. Get every fruit with its scientific classification — family, genus and order — and its per-100g nutrition: calories, sugar, carbohydrates, protein and fat. Look up a single fruit by name, list every fruit in a botanical family (e.g. Rosaceae), genus (e.g. Prunus) or order (e.g. Rosales), or filter the whole catalogue by a nutrient range — for example all fruits with under 5g of sugar, sorted lowest first. Real data, no key needed upstream. Ideal for nutrition and diet apps, smoothie and recipe tools, health trackers and educational projects.

Haustier-Ernährungsmathematik als API, lokal und deterministisch berechnet – die Kalorien-, Portions- und Wasserzahlen, die ein Hunde- oder Katzenbesitzer, Züchter oder eine Haustier-App einem Tier füttert. Der Kalorien-Endpunkt verwendet die Standard-Tierarztformel: Ruheenergie RER = 70 × (Körpergewicht in kg)^0,75, dann täglicher Erhaltungsbedarf MER = RER × einem Lebensstadium-Faktor – 1,6 für einen kastrierten erwachsenen Hund, 1,2 für eine kastrierte Katze, 1,0 oder 0,8 für Gewichtsverlust, 2–3 für Welpen und 2,5 für Kätzchen – also benötigt ein 10 kg kastrierter Hund etwa 394 kcal in Ruhe und 630 kcal pro Tag, und eine 5 kg kastrierte Katze etwa 234 und 281. Gewicht wird in kg oder Pfund angegeben, und ein benutzerdefinierter Faktor überschreibt die Tabelle. Der Portions-Endpunkt wandelt diesen Kalorienbedarf in Futter um: tägliche Gramm = Kalorien ÷ Energiedichte des Futters (kcal pro 100 g, oft 350–450 für Trockenfutter) oder Tassen ÷ kcal pro Tasse, aufgeteilt auf Mahlzeiten – also 630 kcal eines 375-kcal/100 g Trockenfutters sind etwa 168 g pro Tag, 84 g pro Mahlzeit. Der Wasser-Endpunkt gibt den täglichen Bedarf an, etwa 50–60 ml pro kg für Hunde und 50 für Katzen. Alles wird lokal und deterministisch berechnet, daher ist es sofort und privat. BMR & Calorie API
Energy-expenditure and nutrition maths as an API, computed locally and deterministically. The bmr endpoint computes the basal metabolic rate — the calories the body burns at rest — from weight, height, age and sex, using the modern Mifflin-St Jeor equation (BMR = 10·kg + 6.25·cm − 5·age + 5 for men, −161 for women) and reporting the classic revised Harris-Benedict value alongside for comparison. The tdee endpoint computes the total daily energy expenditure, TDEE = BMR × an activity factor from sedentary (1.2) to very active (1.9), and the goal calories for maintenance, mild and standard weight loss and weight gain — a 500 kcal/day deficit or surplus is about 0.45 kg per week. The macros endpoint splits a calorie target into protein, fat and carbohydrate grams, with protein set per kilogram of bodyweight (4 kcal/g protein and carbs, 9 kcal/g fat). Everything is computed locally and deterministically, so it is instant and private. Ideal for fitness, nutrition and health-app developers, diet and meal-planning tools, gym and coaching apps, and wellness dashboards. Pure local computation — no key, no third-party service, instant.
